In the New Testament, ministry is always pictured as team ministry. Jesus brought together a team of disciples, and He sent them out as a team. The Apostles worked in teams, and they commissioned more teams. The letters of Paul describes vivid images of deeply relational team ministry.
Team relationships encompass every believer who has received Jesus as Saviour and Lord. As a team we are Kingdom-orientated with a shared vision of proclaiming the Good News of Christ, making disciples, and fostering healthy relationships in the body of Christ.
Ultimately, Jesus is Lord and head of our team and through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit we are filled and empowered to serve Him by loving God and loving others. Leadership functions are demonstrated by humble and loving service to others, building them up in their faith and equipping them to live as followers and ambassadors of Christ. Spiritual guidance, shepherding, and oversight functions are provided by our Leadership Team who form the Elders and Board of Morning Gate Church. The Board is also supported by Interim Pastoral Team.
